Reasons The Sun Is a Problem For Denver Commercial Spaces

When it comes to loving where you live, it is our estimation that Coloradans probably rank high on the list of happy residents. Especially in some of the Front Range cities that seem to have it all–seasons and sunshine alike. Denver is one of these high altitude cities that get a little bit of everything and A LOT of sun. It is estimated that Colorado gets an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, second only to Florida. It is no wonder then, that people are flocking here from all over the country! However, there are drawbacks to living at a mile high and being more exposed to the sun like the morning and evening glares, high cooling bills and extreme UV exposure. As window tint installers, we at Denver Commercial Window Tinting, know how intrusive the sun can be especially for commercial properties. We also know, there are many myths out there as to the efficacy, the cost, and the process of window tinting that may be holding you back. We would like to take the time to set the record straight on a few of these.

Window Tinting Myths Vs. Fact

Myth: Window tinting will make it dark inside your home or business.
Fact: Window tinting does not stop the sun from penetrating into your home or business. In fact, many window films actually work by redirecting sunlight deeper into your home or business, making it brighter and more comfortable even in areas not directly in front of windows.
Myth: Plants can’t grow in buildings with tinted windows.
Fact: Window tinting blocks harmful UV rays from coming through your home’s windows and UV rays are not what feed plants. Therefore, window tinting does not hinder plant growth and in some ways may help it.
Myth: Window tinting is very expensive.
Fact: The cost of window tinting is much lower than replacing windows and with the money you save on heating and cooling bills, they pay for themselves in as little as 2-4 years.
Myth: Window tinting will take a really long time to install.
Fact: Window tinting on a residential home usually takes no longer than one day. Larger buildings take longer but only a fraction of the time of complete window replacement.
